Executive Biographies

Rose Perrin - Chairperson |
 |
Rose is the Conference Chair of the VILC 2010. She is in her fourth year of the BBA with a concentration in Marketing. Last year Rose was VP Marketing of both the VIU BSA and the VILC which allowed her to expand her skills past the classroom and gain real life experience. This year she now takes on the position of president for the BSA. Rose first got involved with the VILC and BSA to gain real life experience in Marketing, as well as get to know her peers, which has proven to be the place to do so. Rose is a lieutenant in the Canadian Forces working as a part of the Cadet Instructor’s Cadre where she instructs the band of the Nanaimo Air Cadets. Rose has been involved with the cadet program for 11 years. Rose is also currently working towards starting her career by working at a local development firm, where she plans to work after graduation. In her free time she enjoys playing sports such as baseball, tennis, and yoga as well as other outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and rollerblading. Rose is a strong supporter of out of the classroom learning and thinks the VILC is a great place to learn new things, network, and meet new people. Rose is really excited about this year’s leadership conference! |

Katherine Aniks - VP Finance |

Katherine is VP of Finance for the VILC 2010 and is brand new to the event. She is currently working towards a Bachelor of Business Administration in Financial Services. Katherine will be graduating in Fall of 2010 after which she hopes to work as the Financial Planner. She currently volunteers for Volunteer Nanaimo and has a part-time job. Her biggest hobby is reading and collecting books so that eventually she will have her own library. It is very important to Katherine to give back to the community and explore the world outside of the classroom. She knows that this year’s VILC will be an absolute blast and a fantastic learning experience. |
| Aaron Bonnor - VP Marketing |

Aaron is the VP of Digital Marketing for the 2010 VILC for his first year with the event. He is currently in his 4th year of a double business major in Marketing and Management and will be graduating in April, 2011. He currently works as both a civil designer and landscape drafter with local firms. Aaron is also the president and a founding member of the Entrepreneurship Club of Vancouver Island University as well as an active member of the Young Professionals of Nanaimo and a member of the VIU Business Students Association. He enjoys listening to and playing music, motorcycles, sailing and rock climbing. Aaron is looking forward to contributing to the success of the 2010 VILC. |
| Emily DiUbaldo - Registrar and VP Internal Relations |

Emily is VP of Internal Relations and Registrar for the VILC 2010, repeating her role from last year’s successful event. She is currently working toward a Bachelor of Business Administration with a dual concentration in Human Resources & Management. Emily hopes to finish her undergraduate degree in 2011 and at some point pursue an MBA. She also has an active role in the VIU Business Students’ Association as VP Administration. After participating in a China field school, Emily developed a love and appreciation for traveling and hopes to pursue similar opportunities in the future. In her free time, she enjoys walking, swimming, dancing, playing piano, reading, and watching movies. Emily values outside-of-the-classroom learning and sees the VILC as a unique opportunity for networking – building business connections and new friendships. She is extremely excited for this year’s leadership conference and has absolute confidence it will be the best yet!

Aly is in her third year of the Bachelor of Arts Program at VIU. Her focus is in Geography and Urban Growth Management and plans to continue her education and get her Masters in Community Planning. Aly has always wanted to travel and would love to see the world after she is done school. Aly attended the VILC last year and had such an amazing time that she knew she wanted to help out with the next one. Her position as VP of External Relations was the perfect way for her to get involved and get students from different disciplines to attend. In her spare time Aly loves to watch movies, go for walks and hang out with her friends. Aly is so excited about the VILC this year and knows it is going to be the best one yet! |

Tyler is the VP Logistics for the VILC 2010. Tyler is in his third year of the Bachelor of Business Administration at Vancouver Island University where he is working to earn his degree in Human Resources. He hopes to one day be a Certified Human Resources Professional. Tyler volunteered and participated in the 2009 VILC and enjoyed it so much he decided to join the committee for 2010 to help make the VILC an even bigger success. Tyler is enjoying his post secondary experience so far and is active within the faculty and enjoys extracurricular activities. He is an active member in the VIU Business Students’ Association as the 2nd Year Representative for the 2009-2010 school year. Outside of school, Tyler’s favourite pass-times include running, weight training, basketball, soccer, video games and watching movies. |
| Jenelle Hiney - VP Social Events |

Jenelle is the VP Social Events for the 2010 Vancouver Island Leadership Conference. She is currently enrolled in her second year of the BBA program with an intention of going into marketing and is also in the process of getting her Events Management Certificate. Last year Jenelle attended the conference and was a volunteer. She enjoyed the conference so much she decided to be more involved this year and took a position on the executive team. Jenelle is also involved in the Business Students Association as the Activity Coordinator. In her spare time Jenelle enjoys yoga, watching movie, spending time with friends, and outdoor activities such as camping, snowboarding, and rollerblading. Jenelle is very excited about this year’s leadership conference!
